View Vacancy - JPN - Marketing & Campaigns Manager, B3 (L)
To manage delivery of the Japan Network’s pro-active marketing and campaign work for key audiences including businesses, government, academia and wider influencers, predominantly in Japan but also in the UK; to foster networks of external partners, sponsors and influencers and bring recognition of the UK’s GREAT brand and overall offer through engaging content/communications.
Roles and responsibilities / what will the jobholder be expected to achieve?:

Effective delivery of campaign marketing for the Japan Network, including:
- Using GREAT and other campaign resources to coordinate Japan network-wide approach and activities in shifting perceptions as the UK leaves the EU, including on innovation, R&D, free trade. In particular as focus onthe marketing activities for the UK in Japan 2019-20 in 2019 and 2020.
- Source, implement and present market research to support planning and evaluation of campaigns for business and consumer audiences.
- Support C4 Head of Marketing in delivering a portfolio of consistently high-impact marketing services that measurably support agreed campaign objectives.
- Source and implement latest marketing tools and techniques, including adoption of local digital marketing opportunities and localisation of global HMG marketing resources for Japan Network audiences.
- Strong budget oversight/management of GREAT and other campaign financial resources.
Foster network of external partners, sponsors and influencers for leveraging by the Japan Network, including:
Effective management of B2B trade and investment marketing activity, including:
- Coordination of B2B marketing activities, including collateral and events.
- Ownership of marketing products and core communication platforms for UK exporters and Japanese investors.
- Regular contact with regional and central marketing hubs to understand global HMG priorities and trade/investment focussed campaigns; maximise use and localisation of central resources; ensure marketing output is aligned to post CBP and fit for local audiences.
Resources managed (staff and expenditure):
- 3 marketing and digital communications staff: Line management x2; Countersigning x 1.
- Budgets: Management of sponsorship funding; Access to FY marketing spend, and GTC/IiGB/MCP8 funding, project-based funding.
- 4 years’ experience in trade/public relations, marketing or digital communications with a public or private-sector organisation.
- Experience managing diverse staff.
- Proven skills in designing, pitching and managing campaigns.
- Country knowledge and proven ability to engage Japanese, UK and international audiences.
- Strong IT skills, (including standard Microsoft Office programmes and familiarity with latest digital tools).
- Experience of working in an English speaking environment.
- Budget management skills and experience.
- Excellent English and Japanese
- Holds relevant industry qualification or certification in communications, marketing and/or project management.
- Expertise in relevant digital platforms, production and techniques.
- Familiarity with government communications, policy and priorities.
1 month salary bonus equivalents payable in June and December
- (Note: Salary may be reduced due to tax status)
- Commuting allowance of up to JPY35,000 per month (paid on an actual cost basis)
- 25 days paid annual leave (calculated pro rata)
- Health Insurance and Employee pension (kenko hoken/kosei nenkin)
- Employment Insurance (koyou hoken)
- Working patterns: 3-4 days a week with flexibility as to when these are worked including work from home opportunities as discussed with the hiring manager ahead of appointment, occasioal work outside core hours to attend events.
