Main purpose of job:

Act as principal Point of Contact for all official Pakistan Military visa requests & course enquiries to the UK.
Roles and responsibilities that a jobholder will be expected to achieve:
Ensure efficient administration of Pakistan military personnel attending UK courses or exchange posts.
Liaise with UK and Pakistan military training organisations, in order to maintain good working relationships and maximise the effectiveness of attendance on UK courses.
Manage the alumni contacts and Visa Facilitation database.
Act as principal Point of Contact for all official UK military visa requests to Pakistan – engaging with Pakistani agencies, as required.
Manage enquiries from ex-India Army veterans and families.
Deputise for Defence Adviser’s PA when required.
Work as part of a team in a busy environment and willing to use their initiative to solve problems within their area of responsibility. Have a professional and customer focused attitude. when dealing with senior Pakistan military officers and subordinates. Especially, when dealing with complexities and bureaucracy of the visa process with Pakistan and United Kingdom.
Working patterns:
The position offers 41 hours per week, with part-time options available starting at a minimum of 24 hours per week across 3 days.

Each application is considered on its own merits, but the successful applicant will be subject to satisfactory security clearance. Due to the security requirements of the position applicants should be British, US, Australian, New Zealand, Canadian (and usually mono-nationals). We are unable to accept applications from nationals of Pakistan or dual nationality Pakistanis.
Employment will be offered only after appropriate level of UK standard security clearance is received. Any applications that do not meet the eligibility criteria or the security requirements will not be considered.
Essential on arrival:

Desirable:
Previous experience of working with the military and/or FCDO and experience/knowledge of the UK Visa system would be useful but not essential.
For BHC candidates, the Country Based Staff BHC Terms & Conditions will apply.
For other than BHC candidates the basic salary will be PKR 223,015 per month plus Security Allowance of PKR 80,000 per month. This salary is non-negotiable.
Please note that the current salaries are being dollarized and processed in USD (using a fixed corporate exchange rate from November 2022) to provide cushion against the current external market conditions. This is a temporary measure and is subject to review at regular intervals. The payroll will revert to local currency processing once the external market conditions are normalised.
BHC offers a great benefits package that comprises of Annual Domiciliary cover and Medical Insurance Scheme which includes PKR 1,500,000 floater coverage per family for self, one spouse/long term partner and children under the age of 19 or under 23, if in full-time education and not gainfully employed. The Annual Domiciliary cover for day-to-day medical payments is upto PKR 200,000 per family (basis actual bills submission).
Additionally, The British High Commission contributes to a retirement provision in the form of a mandatory provident fund.
