The British Embassy in Helsinki is part of a world-wide network representing British political, economic and consular interests overseas and is now looking for a Cleaner to keep the Embassy building and surrounding areas clean, tidy and hygienic.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Cleaning of embassy offices and corridors, kitchens and toilets and internal stairs;          
  • Assisting in the cleaning of embassy yard and external stairs and seasonal waste management;                                                              
  • Procurement of cleaning stock items for the Embassy and Residence;
  • Other tasks as per business needs.
  • Knowledge of cleaning tools and cleaning agents;
  • Positive attitude, flexibility and a customer-focused approach;
  • Good level of English and basic level of Finnish;
  • Previous experience in office cleaning;
  • Able to work independently;
  • Attention to detail;
  • Flexibility in working hours;
  • IT and numerical skills.
  • Previous experience of using carpet /floor cleaning machine;
  • Experience working in an international environment.

This is a part-time permanent contract of 18 hours per week.

The appointment is subject to professional background check, security clearance and the successful completion of a probationary period.
