The successful candidates will join a busy but dynamic HR team of the British Embassy Beijing.

 Reporting to the HR Manager China, the incumbent is expected to work as an HR generalist, providing effective support in recruitment, employee relations, performance management, compensation &benefits, etc.

 

Ensure all recruitment activities are conducted in compliance with recruitment procedures and policies – 30%

  • Work with Regional HR Hub to support the recruitment of regular positions effectively.
  • Take initiatives to communicate with hiring managers to ensure the proper recruitment requisition is submitted and documented; provide recruitment guidance and advice; secure the recruitment schedule and interviews.
  • Facilitate with UKVI Summer Relief recruitment.

Provide qualified daily HR support, including but not limited to 40%

  • Administer the arrival and departure procedures properly by communicating with staff members, line managers, security team and Diplomatic Service Bureau effectively.
  • Answer HR enquires (such as enquires related to recruitment, performance management, compensation and benefits, TACOS, etc.) for both staff and line managers in a professional manner.
  • Monitor all HR routine transactions including probation, contract renewal, contract amendment and temporary assignment cases, etc.
  • Help local expat staff with their working visa application and Residence Permit application & renewal.
  • Issue employment /income/departure/money transfer letters or certificates for LE staff.
  • Facilitate the performance appraisal process and maintain related data.

As an HR team member of China network, provide effective administrative support to HR team – 30%

  • Help with compensation and benefits management.
  • Keep good HR filing record and ensure HR paperwork and electronic versions are filed in a structure way.
  • Maintain the HR page on SharePoint.
  • Liaise with HR contacts at posts to keep the consistence of the HR policy and practice in China network.
  • Help with other HR assistance as needed.
  • Bachelor Degree on Human Resources Management, English Literature or other related fields
  • Familiar with recruiting methodology and tools, and understand recruiting trends and dynamics
  • Knowledge on Chinese labour law and other HR related policies such as Social Insurance Law, etc.
