The British Embassy in Warsaw is part of a world-wide network, representing British political, economic and consular interests overseas and is now looking to recruit a motivated Bilateral and Visits Officer as part of the Embassy’s Bilateral team, to lead on the organisation of outward high level visits to Poland as well as inward as required. The jobholder will be responsible for organising the logistics for the series of annual UK-Poland events, and provide further support for the Bilateral Team as required.

Main responsibilities will include:

  • Lead on the organisation of Royal, Ministerial, and Director level outward visits to Poland as well as inward as required
  • Liaise with teams across the Embassy, Whitehall departments, Ministerial and Parliamentary private offices to ensure their needs and requirements are met
  • Act as the main point of contact for Protocol regarding high level visits, and ensure appropriate protocol in place
  • Organise the logistics relating to the UK´s participation in high-profile, large-scale events in Poland (e.g. multilateral summits etc.)
  • Organise the logistics for the series of annual UK-Poland events, including the intergovernmental consultations, the Belvedere Forum and Quadriga
  • Build a network of contacts with external partners i.e. among hotels, airports, transport companies and other vendors
  • Cover for the Programme Officer in their absence
  • Provide further additional support for the Bilateral Team as required, such as managing the Team's shared area, calendar and data base, collecting stationary requests, supporting the Internal Political Officer as required

  • Proficient language skills in both English and Polish
  • Strong organisational skills
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently and on own initiative
  • Time-management and self-management skills
  • Ability to work under time pressure
  • Interest in international relations, public policy, foreign policy
  • Good communication and organisational skills
  • Competent with Microsoft Office Software
  • Experience in an administrative support role with budget management

This is a maternity/paternity leave cover for at least one year full-time contract till 31 December 2019 (37.5 net per week). The monthly gross salary for this position is PLN 5,981..

Please note that staff members are responsible for paying any income tax required by the local law. Please be aware that the British Embassy in Warsaw will not be able to cover any costs connected with relocation.

The successful candidate will be subject to the Polish background check and satisfactory completion of a probationary period of three months. Candidates must have pre-existing work authorisation for Poland in order to apply. The British Embassy does not sponsor work permits.
