The Senior Brand Designer is responsible for developing innovative, creative design solutions that support the GREAT brand and our values in a wide range of multi-disciplinary projects.


Roles and responsibilities / what will the jobholder be expected to achieve?:

The Senior Brand Designer will be responsible for designing and publishing a wide selection of materials that support DIT business needs. They will need to respond imaginatively to requests for assistance from areas of DIT both in the APAC region and globally, including on implementing branding guidelines, campaign assets for digital and print as well as sourcing of new imagery. They will have proven experience in graphic design and publishing (both online and offline), a good eye for design and photography, and be a strong team player, ready to advise and underpin image and identity projects. The position will involve creative direction and developing visual concepts and dealing with last minute requests. As our organisation is digital by default all their work will need to be digitally compatible. This role will support and lead on creative for our main Trade and Investment campaigns, including the local language adaptation of assets.

Key responsibilities:
• Taking briefs direct from internal and external clients.
• Creating final designs with strong attention to detail, working to a deadline.
• Proofreading and preparing designs to be sent to print and/or published online.
• Must be capable of executing projects with minimal direction from others.
• Understand and implement brand / campaign guidelines to meet requirements.
• Act as Brand guardian for the region to advise staff on best practice alongside the brand team.
• Creating brand templates and resizing of assets both digital and print.
• Lead creative development of projects e.g. brainstorming sessions and kick-off meetings. Brief design agencies to deliver on-brand high quality solutions.
• A firm understanding of production and print management to include a wide variety of formats, media and sizes.
• Taking a responsible and meticulous approach to computer file management and safe keeping.
• The role demands a keen business sense and corporate B2B experience is a bonus.

Key requirements:
• Essential to have advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Suite software and digital packages.
• Working knowledge of Premier (or similar) for film editing.
• Basic knowledge of motion graphics is a bonus but not essential.
• Past experience in event creative, brand experience and 3D visualisation.
• Basic HTML for email invitations is also a bonus.
• Candidates need to have a creative flair, originality and strong visual sense.
• 5 years or more of professional work experience a plus.
• Be good at solving problems and taking the initiative to search and find solutions.
• The ability to grasp client needs and consider practical solutions.
• Knowledge of the latest trends -  including PPC, social, responsive web design and design for mobile – to advise on new techniques and help to set up and manage the web to print portal.

The team:
DIT’s global design team is lead from HQ providing in-house design support to our network. It currently has 5 designers sitting in different locations round the world. There is a production manager in HQ which is supported by colleagues in our marketing hubs in four regions globally (APAC, MEA, Europe, Americas). This team provides coverage across the world and is supported by outsourced agency support. The team helps colleagues across the Department to help shape, manage and deliver joined-up marketing that achieve business objectives and meet the needs of our customers (internal and external). This role is replacing our designer in the APAC region and sits within the APAC marketing hub.
