The British High Commission (BHC) in Malta is part of a worldwide network, representing British political, economic and consular interests overseas and is now looking for a Corporate Services Manager.

The Corporate Services Manager serves as a key position within the High Commission, responsible for managing day-to-day activities of the High Commission.

Leading an efficient, cost effective and professional team to deliver services to the wider High Commission Team. To manage the Human Resources, Finance and Procurement services ensuring compliance with regulations.

The Corporate Services Manager will manage 8 members of staff and will motivate, develop and support them in realising their full potential.

Roles and Responsibilities:

•Managing the Corporate Services Team with direct line management responsibilities for 8 people.

•Managing the local budget in close liaison with the Procurement / Finance Hub in Vilnius.

•Implementing existing corporate policies and best practices on procurement, ensuring the mission achieves maximum value for money.

•Preparing annual, monthly and ad hoc budget reports as necessary.

•Ensuring compliance with correct accounting procedures and that appropriate key performance indicators are met.

•Managing and supervising the Estate, this will include rental policy, lease negotiations, working within Foreign Commonwealth Office guidelines and implementing accommodation policy.

•Overseeing and implementing HR policies, including terms and conditions of service and compliance with local labour law.

•Overall day to day management of embassy e.g. travel, transport, updating post report, cost of living allowance returns, new arrivals – heavy baggage and Unaccompanied Air Freight, welcome packs, local procurement and supplier contact.

In conjunction with the Post Security Officer, ensuring security of buildings, staff and information.


  • Fluent English (spoken and written).

  • Professional experience directly relevant to the key duties described above.

  • Excellent customer services skills.

  • Experience of staff management or holding leadership positions.

  • Strong IT skills including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and internet skills.

  • Strong numeracy skills.


  • Maltese language skills.

  • Driving Licence.

This is a full-time, fixed-term contract of 12 months with possibility of renewal.

The successful candidate will be subject to confirmation of a background check and security clearance.

Staff recruited locally by the British High Commission in Malta are subject to Terms and Conditions of Service according to local Maltese employment law.
