The UK Delegation to the OECD is currently looking for a Policy Advisor – Business and Industrial Strategy. The Delegation is part of the UK’s France Network which includes the British Embassy in Paris, with offices in Lyon, Bordeaux and Marseilles and the UK’s representation to UNESCO in Paris and the Council of Europe in Strasbourg.

The jobholder will also need to understand the UK position on regulation and competition policy and identify opportunities and risks in the work of the OECD.

A key part of the jobholder’s role on business will relate to the OECD’s work on tackling bribery and corruption, for example through the promotion of the OECD’s Anti-Bribery Convention. The jobholder is also expected to cover the OECD’s work on science and innovation, transport, regional development, cities and tourism, working with the relevant Whitehall departments and OECD officials.

The UK Delegation to the OECD is a small, but growing, team covering a wide range of UK policy areas. The main attributes required are an ability to create and maintain networks linking together Whitehall Departments, OECD experts and colleagues in the Delegations of the other 35 OECD members. There will also be the opportunity to contribute to the corporate objectives of the Delegation and to engage with the UK’s bilateral embassy to France.
