Housekeeper

The British Embassy in Copenhagen, part of a world-wide network representing UK political, economic and consular interests overseas, is looking for a Housekeeper to Support the effective running of the Embassy and Residence by providing a high quality cleaning and housekeeping service across three Embassy Properties as part of a small housekeeping team. Support Official functions as required.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

Regular Duties

  • Office cleaning; including corridors, kitchens, toilets and internal stairs;
  • Stock taking of domestic cleaning supplies as well as assisting with routine inventory checks and updates to items in the Embassy and Residence;
  • Working to a routine cleaning plan; daily, weekly, monthly tasks.

 

Occasional Duties

  • Assist preparation of official meetings; set-up and refreshments;
  • Serving duties during receptions: serving meals and drinks to guests, and post-event tidying as necessary;
  • Assist in maintaining the Residence to a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene;
  • Assist with preparation of transit accommodation.
  • Good communication in English language both oral and written (independent user);
  • At least 1 year of work experience in a similar role either in facilities management or the hospitality industry;
  • Customer focus approach;
  • Willing to take initiative, flexible, proactive ("Can do" attitude);
  • Able to work effectively and supportively with colleagues, both individually and in a team;
  • Able to act with discretion at all times;
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule;
  • Have good IT Skills – familiar with Microsoft Office (Word, outlook, excel);
  • Have a positive outlook;
  • Keen attention to detail;
  • Be able to work swiftly and effectively.
  • Have good communication in Danish.

This is a fixed-term contract of 12 months with possibility of renewal.
