Main purpose of job:



  • To support delivery of the FCO communication and marketing activities and priorities;
  • To coordinate campaigns and implement internal communication strategies for the Brazil Network;
  • To assist the Science & Innovation and Climate Change/International Climate Finance teams in all the communication activities that may be needed, including social media and internal communication.

 

Roles and responsibilities :



  • Coordinate and oversee internal communication campaigns led by the Brazil Network Comms team;
  • Assist the Communication Manager with press office activity (press releases, follow-ups, media briefings, mailing lists, reports, presentations, etc);
  • Support SIN and ICF teams with communication strategies and their implementation;
  • Manage administrative tasks and suppliers for our daily activity and occasional events;
  • Ensure good media relations among stakeholders;
  • Oversee the Press Intern duties;
  • Handle @UKinBrazil social media accounts with creativity and excitement (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn);
  • Research for trending topics, hashtags and news of each sector;
  • Support work aligned with the Head of Comms;
  • Ensure active communication among stakeholders.

Essential on arrival:


- University studies or degree in a relevant field: Communications; Journalism or Public Relations;


- At least 2 years working experience with communication, press and/or corporate comms (a proven record of experience of work in international organisations, companies, newsrooms and/or press office agencies would be a strong advantage);


- A strong understanding and experience of working with the Brazilian traditional press and social media, especially in the areas of Science, Innovation, Environment;


- High level of fluent written and spoken English and Portuguese;


- Experience and familiarity with internal communications strategy, implementation and delivery is an advantage;


- Experience working with internal and external stakeholders or clients;


- Experience in organising events;


- Knowledge and understanding of social media platforms;


- Excellent personal communication skills, good attention to detail and a strong team player;


- Some experience in management and recruitment of interns.


Desirable:


- Familiarity with design, video and visual communication tools;


- Basic graphic design knowledge;


- An interest in science and research;


- Keen interest in the latest outcomes on social media and national/international news;


- Good understanding of international relations and UK culture.
