Main purpose of job:

To provide skilled work in the installation, repair, operation, and maintenance of refrigeration & air conditioning (ac) equipment and systems at various stations of the estate and systems. Repairs faulty refrigeration and air conditioning equipment and plant.

Roles and responsibilities / what will the jobholder be expected to achieve?:

  • Install, inspect, maintain, and repair air conditioner and other air handling units.
  • Carries out preventive maintenance of Refrigeration and Air Conditioning equipment and systems
  • Diagnose electrical and mechanical defects and malfunctions.
  • Install, replace, or repair equipment that has been damaged.
  • Ventilate equipment and controls making sure they operate efficiently and continuously.
  •  Perform regular maintenance work on cooling units.
  • Make adjustment and do calibrations of thermostatic controls.
  • Install new air-conditioning systems and equipment.
  • Inspect and maintain refrigerators and ice machines, and chilled water supply systems.
  • Clean blowers and coils, check tensions of belts and motors.
  • Repairs faulty Refrigeration and Air Conditioning equipment and Plant.
  • Carries out routine checks and logs of the status of Refrigeration and Air Conditioning equipment.
  • To carryout another job assigned by supervisor
  • City and Guilds qualified //vocational or technical training(Any evidence of apprenticeship  training)
  • 5 years relevant experience with outstanding troubleshooting and technical aptitude
  • Have knowledge of standards working practices
  • Understanding of health, safety and  environment regulations
  • Excellent communication skills with a flexible, adaptable approach to working.
  • Ability to work accurately under pressure and without supervision
  • Ability to interact well with superiors and subordinates professionally.
