The British Embassy, Riyadh has a vacancy for a Personal Assistant to Her Majesty’s Ambassador, Grade A2 (L).

Role:

As a Personal Assistant, you will provide a full range of secretarial and administrative support to the Head of Mission and also assist the wider work of the Embassy.

Main duties and responsibilities:

  • Organise and Maintain HMA’s Diary in collaboration with the embassy sections.
  • Organise HMA official regional and UK visits.
  • Build a positive and good relation with all embassy stakeholders: Ministries, Government organisation and HMA’s key contacts and to provide a wider support to the chancery as appropriate.
  • Following up when needed visa inquiries for key contacts in collaboration with UKVI.
  • Keeping a well archived contact list  and manage official HMA guest lists and invitations.
  • Organise all HMA official events organised at the Residence  and liaise with the Residence Manager.
  • Lead on the Queen's Birthday party as the main official event of the embassy.
  • Deputise the DHM/PA and the Residence Manager in their absence.

  • Delivering at Pace - Check own and team performance against outcomes, make improvement suggestions or take corrective action when problems are identified.

Essential:

  • Previous experience as PA or experience in event management;
  • Excellent English  and Arabic language skills, written and spoken;
  • Ability to prioritise own workload and meet deadlines, without compromising the quality of the work;
  • Excellent planning and organisation skills;
  • Ability to work closely with senior staff and their contacts;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools particularly Outlook, Word and Excel.

Working Hours and Remuneration:

The Embassy aims to offer an attractive working environment and remuneration package for this role including:

Salary details:

  • Base Salary including Eid Bonus – SAR. 5,373.33/-
  • * Housing Allowance – SAR. 1,343.33/- (subject to eligibility)*
  • * Travel Allowance- SAR. 400/-(subject to eligibility)*

 

*Allowances are not payable to staff who receive official provision for such expenditure in some other form.

No accommodation and relocation expenses are payable in connection with this position.

Normal working hours for the Embassy are 08.00 to 15.00 Sunday to Thursday.  This position is full-time, based on 35 hours per week. This is a full time fixed term contract for one year.

The successful candidate will be subject to a 6 month probationary period.  

Eligibility:

The position is only available to holders of Saudi residence permits or transferable Iqamas, and successful candidates will be required to transfer their sponsorship to the British Embassy.
