The British Embassy in Copenhagen is part of a world-wide network, representing British political & economic and consular interests overseas.

A full time fixed term position as a Trade Adviser A2 has become available in the Department of International Trade based at the British Embassy in Copenhagen.

The main purpose of the job is to assist UK companies in their commercial activities in Denmark. The role will focus on identifying and developing export opportunities for UK companies, supporting UK commercial enquires and providing trusted research and advice to companies and public departments.

Roles and responsibilities:

  • Identify export opportunities for UK companies in Denmark using existing networks, desk research / analysis and business development methods.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with Danish and UK stakeholders including facilitating B2B collaboration, enquiry management and business support.
  • Provide accurate and timely reporting on internal platforms as well as delivering accurate market research.
  • Ensure high quality representation at events, conferences both in the UK and Denmark.
  • Contribute to/coordinate with colleagues across the Nordic Baltic and ensuring that DIT’s activities, campaigns and stakeholders are coordinated in a one governmental approach.
  • Commercial flair with a proven knowledge of the Danish economy and commercial institutions.
  • Strong research and analytical skills and an ambition to advise.
  • Result orientated with a track record of achieving targets.
  • Proven ability to structure, manage and implement projects while working in small multi-disciplined teams.
  • Strong communication skills with fluency in both Danish and English essential.
  • IT savvy with strong CRM / cloud based skills.
  • Knowledge of Danish trade structures and organisations.
  • An understanding of government and the role it plays international trade would be of advantage.

This is a full-time, fixed-term contract for one year.

The successful candidate will be subject to professional background check and security clearance.

The successful candidate must have pre-existing work authorization for Denmark in order to apply.

Staff recruited locally by the British Embassy in Copenhagen is subject to Terms and Conditions of Service according to local Danish employment law.

Visa / Passport requirements: Candidates must currently hold the independent right to live and work in Denmark and be prepared to ensure that right remains throughout the scope of the contract.
