Main Purpose of Job:
This is a multifaceted entry-level role for an exceptional individual to join the Department for Business and Trade’s China and Hong Kong region as a Marketing and Communications Officer.
Reporting to the Communications and Marketing Campaigns Manager in Hong Kong, the successful applicant will provide support across multiple marketing and communications initiatives and contribute to the wider team’s trade and investment ambitions. This role will be a part of the marketing and communications function to enhance the reputation of the UK Government, while promoting the UK as a first-class destination for inward investment and an export powerhouse in Hong Kong.

The British Consulate-General Hong Kong offers a generous leave package of 25 days annual leave (rising to 30 days after 5 years of service) on top of 14 days of public holidays, plus additional time off for volunteering in the community and learning and development.

This position is open to Hong Kong permanent residents, those with existing work visas and dependents of UK-based diplomatic staff currently posted in Hong Kong. Employment offers are subject to successful clearance of pre-employment checks. No accommodation or relocation expenses are payable in connection with this position. Candidates must have or be able to obtain work authorisation for Hong Kong in order to apply.
Employees who are not liable to pay local income tax on their Mission salary may have their salaries reduced by the equivalent local income tax amount.
The jobholder may be required to travel. Some work (including travel) will be required during the evenings and occasionally weekends, for which time off in lieu (where applicable) will be given.
