The British Embassy Prague is part of a world-wide network representing British political, economic and consular interests overseas while maintaining the relationship between the UK and the host country. The British Embassy Prague is now offering two internship opportunities for highly motivated university students who will join the Department for International Trade (DIT) in this unique and exciting time. We offer two internship positions, one from April - September 2023 and one from October 2023 till March 2024, both for 6 months and paid on an hourly basis.

Roles and responsibilities 

The DIT is the UK Government organisation that helps UK-based companies to succeed in the Czech Republic and other international markets. Key roles and responsibilities of the chosen candidate will include:

  • Helping to organise business-focused events, seminars and meetings
  • Conducting market research, validating contacts and arranging meetings to assist UK companies with identifying business opportunities in CR
  • Updating databases and current records using internal tools
  • Providing administrative support to the local & regional campaign team
  • Fluency in English and Czech (both oral and written, minimum C1 level*);
  • excellent attention to detail and strong organisational skills;

  • good level of computer literacy (including Microsoft Office); willingness to learn

  • Understanding of the business environment in the Czech Republic and the UK, as well as university background in a relevant field would be an advantage for the internship at the Department of International Trade.

We offer two internship positions

  • one from April - September 2023
  • and one from October 2023 till March 2024

both for 6 months and paid on an hourly basis, paid 118 CZK per hour.

Working hours are Monday to Friday from 9:00 to 17:00 with a flexible working hours arrangement. 

The successful candidate will be subject to professional background check and security clearance.

The successful candidate must be enrolled as student of a university or college in order to apply.

Staff recruited locally by the British Embassy in Czech Republic are subject to Terms and Conditions of Service according to local Czech Republic employment law.

Visa/work permit requirements: Candidates must currently hold the independent right to live and work in  Czech Republic and be prepared to ensure that right remains throughout the scope of the contract.
