The British Embassy Israel is looking for a full-time Science and Innovation Coordinator. 

The job holder will support the delivery of the Science and Innovation (SIN) Programme in Israel.


Responsibilities will include:

  • Provide support to the Science and Innovation (SIN) Officer, working closely with the Embassy and British Council teams and relevant stakeholders in the UK.
  • Execute science and innovation-related projects, reporting to the SIN Officer. This includes regular and ongoing liaising with stakeholders, programme shaping, managing committee logistics, drafting contracts, writing communication pieces, troubleshooting and making effective decisions on individual cases while making recommendations to the SIN Officer.
  • Organise logistics and content of delegations and events in Israel and the UK, as well as Governmental visits.
  • Represent SIN/ the Embassy when necessary or on behalf of the SIN Officer.
  • Administer the SIN team budgets, process invoices for payment and keep appropriate financial records on behalf of the SIN Officer.
  • Identify potential projects by researching, analysing information and providing recommendations to the SIN Officer along with a course of action.

  • Academic degree or equivalent
  • Proven high level of organisational and administrative skills
  • Strong interpersonal and team working skills
  • Experience working with budgets
  • Strong IT skills including MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Experience in organising events
  • Fluent in English (written and spoken) and proficient in Hebrew (written and spoken)
  • Experience working in or with the Science/ Technology sector
  • Experience working in or with academia or research sectors
  • Experience working within the UK landscape

The Embassy aims to offer an attractive working environment and remuneration package for this role, including the non negotiable salary of ILS 9,532 per month, plus social benefits.

Working hours are Monday to Thursday, 8:00–16:00 and Friday 8:00–13:30.

Parking facilities will not be provided or paid for by the Embassy.

No accommodation or relocation expenses are payable in connection with this position.


The position is available immediately.

The appointment will be subject to security clearance and a probationary period of four months.

Eligibility:

Candidates must be able to work legally in Israel.
