View Vacancy - Security Officer (AZE926)
The British Embassy in Azerbaijan is part of a world-wide network, representing British political, economic and consular interests overseas and is now looking for one Security Officer, S2 based in Baku.
The job holder will work within a team of security officers with the responsibility to provide an efficient and professional security service to its staff and visitors. The local Security Officer is responsible for the physical protection of the Embassy, Residence and Consular Section, controlling access to the buildings and ensuring that the buildings are secure.
We would be looking to attract female applicants as a priority, as some of the duties will be related to dealing with female visitors in line with required security protocols.
Main Responsibilities:
- Manage, develop and train the security team to the highest possible standard and effectiveness, within budgetary constraints.
- Administer all physical security aspects including enhancement projects, monitor and maintain security equipment.
- Oversee the Health & Safety, Environment and Fire operation and equipment.
Constantly examine and review all security regulations, operational procedures, techniques and requirements. Ensure that all emergency drills are carried out frequently, that staff and families are thoroughly briefed on security awareness and updated on security issues and measures. - Assist in the planning and briefing for VIP visits, the PEPs and the Missions social events.
- Plan, format and despatch all security returns.
- Liaise with the local security agencies, the US Regional Security Officer, the UN/EU and other friendly missions’ security advisors and host nation police, security agencies and ministries.
- Assessing the threat and formulate procedures to counter any possible terrorist attacks, criminal activity or demonstrations.
- Carry out duties as detailed by the Regional Overseas Security Manager.
- Minimum of 2 years of working experience in a Customer Service field, preferably as a Security Officer or Receptionist.
- Minimum High School Diploma level.
- English fluency (both oral and written) and Azeri (native).
- Good IT Skills for Excel and Outlook are desirable.
- Experience of working with international community.
This is a full-time position of five working days, 40 hours net per week, for a permanent contract. Working time is from 09h00 to 17h00, althought some flexibility might be expected.
The salary is USD 845.30 gross per month and shall be paid in AZN monthly.
Staff recruited locally by the British Embassy in Azerbaijan is subject to Terms and Conditions of Service of the FCO according to local labour legislation.
