We are looking for a Driver to join our Transport team. As a driver, the incumbent will be required to work independently, therefore initiative, self-confidence and the ability to maintain a high level of situation awareness when driving in busy traffic or if confronted with a high threat situation is essential. The driver should be proficient in driving a variety of different vehicles including armoured and heavy goods vehicles.  



Responsibilities

 The driver is responsible for making sure that the all passengers are afforded the correct courtesy and assistance when escorting them between locations. He/she is also responsible for checking and reporting of vehicles road worthiness prior to and of completion of duty; and to conduct all official moves in a safe and professional manner.


 

Main Duties

  • Assist in planning, decision-making, risk and threat analysis/ recognition for routes;
  • To ensure the occupant arrives safely and on time at their destination;
  • Perform all duties according to the roster prepared by the Transport Supervisor;
  • Apply situation specific driving of the vehicle for varying weather and road conditions;
  • Identify potential pre- incident indicators and choke points on the route;
  • Implement defensive driving drills and position the vehicle appropriately in an emergency;
  • Prepare and submit route reconnaissance reports as well as vehicle and equipment report sheets;
  • Ensure that allocated vehicle is checked prior to start of duty for basic road worthiness (i.e. Oil, Brake Fluid, Fuel Level & Tyre Pressure are correct & all lights, washers & wipers are fully functional);
  • Maintain journey sheets;
  • To find a suitable area to park on arrival at a busy urban area;
  • To assist passengers with their luggage and any heavy belongings. 

  • Possess a valid B1 driving licence is essential or able to get this license;
  • Strong understanding of local driving laws and regulations, as well as local city roads and surrounding areas;
  • Good anticipation, positional sense and spatial awareness to make for a safer all- round driver;
  • Competence in the use of vehicle tow- ropes, fire- extinguishers and other break- down tools and equipment;
  • First aid trained and familiar with medical equipment in case of an emergency;
  • Proficient in English language and Bahasa Indonesia with good communication skills;
  • Physically fit with excellent eyesight;
  • Flexible with ability to work independently with good time management skills;
  • Willing to work out-of-office hours;
  • Willing to start employment on a 1-year fixed term contract, with a possibility of extension;
  • Clean police and security record;
  • Previous employment in other missions or government organisations preferred but not essential.
