Who are we?
The British Embassy in Bishkek is seeking a new Climate and Infrastructure Policy Manager to support its Central Asia Development and Programme Team (CADPT). The Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) handles the United Kingdom’s foreign affairs and development programmes. Its Central Asia Development and Programme Team (CADPT) manages development programmes in the region. The team is led by a Regional Development Director sitting in the British Embassy in Tashkent (BE Tashkent) and comprises British and local staff in-country and the UK. CADPT has a regional climate programme, “Climate, Energy and Water Security in Central Asia” (CEW-CA) which is managed by a UK based Regional Climate Adviser and other members of the Climate Team. The Climate and Infrastructure Policy Manager in Bishkek will work on regional and national climate, energy and water resources issues.
Main purpose of job:
The Climate and Infrastructure Policy Manager will be the climate and infrastructure lead for Kyrgyzstan and will have the following responsibilities:

This is a full-time, fixed-term 12-month contract (36 hours per week).
The gross salary per month is 2,688 USD. Note that the 13th monthly salary is paid pro rata in November.
The successful candidate will be subject to a professional background check and security clearance and 1-month probation period (fixed term contract).

Staff recruited locally by the BE in Kyrgyzstan are subject to terms and conditions service according to Kyrgyz employment. Working hours: Monday to Friday 09.00-17.30.
Working Patterns: this job is partly suited to flexible working patterns, although you will be expected to work primarily from the British Embassy’s office in Bishkek.
Learning and Development: FCDO has a comprehensive Learning and Development offer. Regular on the job training is supplemented by training and mentoring options, classroom sessions and the possibility to travel overseas (where appropriate) e.g. for training and work.
