The British Embassy in Tirana is part of a world-wide network, representing British political, economic and consular interests overseas and is looking for a Project Assistant A1, based in Tirana.

This is a diverse and challenging role in an expanding Embassy. The selected candidate will work in close coordination with HM Ambassador and other staff to deliver a challenging and innovative project focused on supporting Albania’s tech eco-system and entrepreneurs. 

Main Duties / Responsibilities

  • The Project Assistant will be an integral part of the team, assisting with a variety of tasks, including: 

            - Supporting a busy team with project related work in the areas of technology, youth and entrepreneurship;
            - Assisting with the delivery of project events, incl. training workshops, roundtables, marketing events;
            - Build and maintain strong relationships with project partners to ensure successful delivery of programme.

  • Provide efficient and effective budget forecasting, spend monitoring and procurements, ensuring value for money and demonstrate a strong understanding of project budget management.

  • Collaborate with the Press and Public Affairs Section to ensure better publicity for activities organized and to demonstrate tangible results.


     
  • 3 years of experience assisting project delivery;
  • Organisational skills, including attention to detail, multitasking and time management skills;
  • Experience with financial and accounting processes;
  • Excellent written and verbal English and Albanian communication skills.
  • University degree in a related field;
  • Experience and knowledge of the technology sector;
  • Interest in technology and how this can support a business.

Terms and Conditions

This is a full-time fixed term contract for one year, with possibility of renewal, for 5 working days (36 hours net) per week. The successful candidate may be required to work a few Saturdays a year which will be compensated with time off in lieu.

The monthly salary for this position is 87,719.00 (ALL) gross per month, at A1 level. Please note that staff members are responsible for paying any income tax required by local law.

The successful candidate will be subject to professional background check, security clearance and three months probation period.

Staff recruited locally by the British Embassy in Tirana are subject to terms and conditions of service according to local (Albanian) employment law.
