View Vacancy - Residence House Keeper (11/17 YAO)
Main purpose of job:
This position is part of the small Estates Team within the Mission’s Corporate Services Department. It focuses on managing and maintaining the British High Commissioners Residence ensuring that it is well maintained and provides a professional appearance to visitors to the Mission. The housekeeper provides housekeeping services to the High Commissioner and guests. They also support food & beverage service working closely with the Butler.
Roles and responsibilities
- Prepare accommodation for guests – beds & linen; vacuuming, mopping and dusting; toiletries;
- ensure safety cards, guest information etc is in place
- Guest services – welcome guests and offer refreshments
- Undertake ad hoc cleaning assigned by the Line Manager.
- Check cleaning machines/equipment regularly and bring faulty machines to the attention of Line manager.
- Stock control – linen
- Monitor stock of cleaning products/equipment and place orders when supplies are low.
Minimum 2 years experience in housekeeping within a diplomatic residence, boutique hotel or private home of similar standing with excellent references
- Excellent at cleaning and laundry
- Must have a minimum qualification of a Secondary School certificate.
- Good command of spoken and written English.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, time management skills and attention to detail.
- Must be able to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Excellent organisation skills.
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn and improve
- Food & Beverage experience & flower arranging
