The British Embassy in Moscow is part of a world-wide network, representing British political, economic and consular interests overseas and is now looking for an Accommodation Officer.

The main purpose of this job is to ensure the Embassy’s cleaning contractor is working to set KPI’s and the Embassy is receiving value for money. The Accommodation Officer will be responsible for all furniture inventories for apartments and stores, collaborating/liaising with Embassy technical staff, labourers, contractors, landlords and officers to make sure work requests are completed in a timely and cost effective manner.

 Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Supervise the works of the Embassy’s cleaning contractor, Landmark. Act as liaison with their management. Organise and control the work of cleaners within the Embassy building and conduct weekly/monthly checks of work, ensuring Landmark adhere to KPI’s, keeping records of all checks and any anomalies;
  • Ensure all furniture inventories of Embassy stores and apartments are updated in a timely manner. Contribute to the organisation of furniture sales within the Embassy. Assist Line Manager with rolling furniture programme;
  • Liaise with Facilities Management Services colleagues, outside contractors/service providers/landlords in order to resolve maintenance issues as and when they occur for all rental properties;
  • Work with technical staff and service providers to ensure provision of internet, telephone and television services for off compound properties and provide advice to tenants regarding payment of such services. Ensure apartment keys are ready for collection for all new officers and manage the accommodation key cabinet;
  • Maintain the Embassy property data bases, including the Rental Profile and Pyramid records for on compound properties;
  • Provide cover/resilience when colleagues within the team are on leave and complete other duties as deemed necessary by Line Manager or Head of Section.

  • Effective communication skills both in dealing with staff and with partners or suppliers;
  • MS Office skills (Word and Excel);
  • Good level of written and spoken English;
  • Fluent level of written and spoken Russian.
  • Previous property, facilities or contract management or real estate experience would be desirable;
  • Previous Embassy/Government experience would be desirable.

This is a full-time, permanent contract, for 5 working days, 35 hours net per week. The successful candidate will be expected to start as soon as possible.

The successful candidate will be subject to professional background check and security clearance.

Staff recruited locally by the British Embassy in Russia is subject to Terms and Conditions of Service according to local Russian employment law.

The monthly salary for this position is Rub 73,114 gross, A2(L) level, paid 13 times a year.
