HR

The Pay and Benefits Officer will provide support to the Pay and Benefits Manager in the salary review process for the Posts in the Asia Pacific Region. The incumbent will also provide support in payroll function to ensure timely and accurate delivery of payroll related payments for locally employed staff working at British Embassies, High Commissions and other Offices located in the region. The role will report to the Regional Pay and Benefits Manager.

Service Delivery & Reporting 

  • Provide support  in the salary review process by coordinating with the salary benchmarking consultant/vendor, preparing salary worksheets and performing basic analyses with guidance from the Pay and Benefits Manager
  • Responsible for preparation and processing of payroll for all staff in the regional network
  • Produce and analyse regular and ad hoc payroll reports for the HR Hub team
  • Perform crucial role in exercises such as the annual pay award, benefit deduction updates, and final pay process
  • Maintain individual payroll files for each employee, filing paperwork each pay period, where applicable
  • Implement the payroll Business Continue Plan responsibilities

Quality 

  • Review, develop and document payroll procedures, advising both staff and managers when needed
  • Interpret HR policies and procedures and apply them to pay and benefits, where applicable
  • Trouble shoot any pay and benefits related query or issue, working closely with the employee and interdependent groups as required
  • Perform Root Cause Analysis including implementation of mitigation, preventive action, and solution

Communication

  • Answer enquiries and requests from internal and external stakeholders applying strong customer service skills

Innovation 

  • Take initiative to identify any areas for improving (standardising, simplifying, streamlining) or automating the pay and benefits processes

Learning & Development

  • 2-4 years payroll and compensation experience

The British Embassy offers a competitive compensation package, 36-hour work week, 13th and 14th month pay, 20 days paid annual leave (calculated on Pro-rata basis if joined after 1 January), extensive medical insurance, life insurance and  access to a guaranteed 5 days of learning opportunities a year. This position is being advertised as a full time permanent contract linked to the British Embassy’s Local Staff A2 grade.

No accommodation or relocation expenses are payable in connection with this position. You must have work authorisation for the Philippines in order to apply.
