Main purpose of job:

Provide analytical and administrative assistance to the Brazil Inward Investment Team, manage and develop customer relationship and support Brazilian companies willing to expand operations to the United Kingdom.

The successful candidate will be continuously exposed to opportunity of participating and organising commercial meetings, missions, internal and external events, producing briefings, readout, reports, etc. as well as engaging with DIT colleagues, current and potential Brazilian investors in the UK and sector specialists in the UK to deliver activities, develop professional skills and experiences and enhance future career prospects.

Roles and responsibilities / what will the jobholder be expected to achieve?

Analytical:

  • Help the Brazil Inward Investment Team to identify key Brazilian companies to internationalise to the UK
  • Support projects pipeline development according to HMG’s priorities and metrics of high impact for Foreign Direct Investment
  • Produce analytical reports and readouts to strategically inform senior management on activities development

Customer Relationship:

  • With guidance of line manager, provide support to Brazilian companies willing to internationalise operations to the UK
  • Do regularly updates on the Client Relationship Management (CRM) system;
  • Organise and support with agendas for investors visiting the United Kingdom;
  • Ensure all enquiries, requests of information and requirements from the Brazil potential investors are met in a timely and effective manner.

Administrative and Operational:

  • Help the Brazil Inward Investment Team to deliver its planned marketing and client engagement activities throughout the financial year by organising events and missions;
  • Organise and support VIP and Ministerial visits to Brazil and other important actions.
  • Provide administrative support to the Brazil Inward Investment Team (meetings, reports, contracts, follow-ups, briefings, finance etc.) and any other activity as required by managers.

 

Essential on arrival:

  • The successful candidate should be a university graduate, with 3-5 years of relevant professional experience,
  • He or she will have excellent organisational skills, be results oriented and have a hands-on approach.
  • Candidate is expected to demonstrate strong communication skills in dealing with clients and stakeholders
  • The candidate must be able to work in a multicultural environment and have good time management skills.
  • Team player and willing to learn and grow as a professional in a dynamic and friendly environment.
  • Knowledge in Microsoft Office package.
  • Advanced English writing and speaking skills and fluency in Portuguese

Desirable:   

  • A background and track record in investment promotion and/or experience of working in a business-related function would be a distinct advantage.

Employees who are not liable to pay local income tax on their Mission salary, eg some non-local national staff and some spouses or partners of UK diplomatic staff, will have their salaries abated by an equivalent amount. 

The Inward Investment analyst will develop skills for the promotion of investments opportunities between the UK and Brazil; gain experience in organising and managing important sector events, meetings, visits, etc.; develop knowledge on logistics and administrative tasks to operationalise investment projects across multiple sectors.

We will also work with the successful candidate in looking for ways to combine their academic interests with the work undertaken at the Consulate.
