Estates

The British Embassy in Uzbekistan is part of the world-wide UK diplomatic network working on behalf of British political, economic and consular interests overseas and is now looking to recruit a Corporate Services Officer. The jobholder will be responsible for general administration issues involving both UK and local staff, including estate management, procurement and staff administration.

Main responsibilities will include:

Estates

  • Coordinate day-to-day work requests on UKBS residences and Embassy facilities;
  • Liaise with landlords on planned maintenance and refresher works in residences;
  • Maintain inventory of household and office items/equipment;
  • Manage the Embassy estates system data (Pyramid) registering work requests and other related activities;
  • Ensure timely processing of furniture renewal;

Procurement

  • Research and identify optimal sources ensuring a required balance between price and quality of goods;
  • Plan and process purchases of office stationery, cleaning supplies, spare parts and other necessary items;
  • Liaise with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of services and goods;

Health and Safety

  • Ensure office and household items and equipment meet required standards;
  • Arrange annual inspection of fire extinguishers and handymen’s schedule on electrical equipment check-up;
  • Act as Fire Warden;

 

Other

  • Prepare and maintain up to date welcome packs to for UKBS and LE Staff to provide with newly arrived staff;
  • Administration of staff TOIL records;
  • Arrange UKBS unaccompanied freight documentation and liaise with courier companies on freight delivery/collection;
  • Prepare and submit official documentation to local authorities on release of freight arriving on Embassy’s name;
  • Liaise with local administration bodies on the issues related to the Embassy territory maintenance;



  • Experience (at least one year) in office and/or estates administration area, preferably in international organisations;
  • Technical knowledge of estates and procurement managing;
  • Health and Safety previous experience;
  • University degree;
  • IT-literate in Microsoft Office (excell, word and outlook);
  • Ability to multitask, work accurately with attention to details, be resilient under pressure;
  • Good interpersonal skills to build and maintain relationships with a range of stakeholders (internal and external);
  • Willing to take initiative, flexible, responsible and reliable team player;
  • Good level of written and spoken English and Russian;
  • Experienced in using ORACLE systems;
  • Staff managerial skills;
  • Good level of written and spoken Uzbek;

This is a full-time temporary contract with the duration of two years (40 hours per week).

The successful candidate will be subject to professional background checks and security clearance.
