The British Embassy in Tirana is part of a world-wide network, representing British political, economic and consular interests overseas and is looking for a Post Security and Transport Manager A2, based in Tirana.

To provide reassurance on all aspects of Post security. Effectively manage the embassy guard force.



Main Duties and Responsibilities:

Post Security

  • Work closely with the Post Security Officer (PSO) and Regional Overseas Security Manager (ROSM) on all aspects of security policy within the Embassy.

  • Lead on arranging rapid security clearances for new members of local staff; conduct security briefings for both local and UK based staff.

  • Oversight of operational security measures in the Embassy compound and UK based accommodation including liaison with Embassy estates officer.

  • Daily close supervision of directly employed Embassy guard force.

  • Organise monthly security refresher training for Embassy guard force.

  • Regular daily inspections of Embassy and Residence compound to ensure general security, guard force, HN Police and security systems are functioning.

  • Regular liaison with the Albanian Police and friendly nation Embassies in Albania.

  • Management of all Embassy security systems including CCTV and radios.

  • Daily monitoring of press summaries for items of interest and further research if required, including liaison with Embassy press team.

  • Review and update the Post Security Regulations as required.

 

Transport & Logistics Management

  • Direct supervision of logistics team in delivering services required, including heavy baggage/freight arrangements and all transport for the Embassy.

  • Provide support to the wider Embassy in the event of a crisis.

  • Organise annual driver training and assessment of driver capability.



  • Experience in a management role in the field of protective security;

  • Ability to work independently and under pressure;

  • Excellent organizational and leadership skills with a sense of discipline and integrity;

  • Flexibility and a willingness to work outside office hours as required;

  • Fluency in English and Albanian.


  • Experience of working with Albanian security authorities;
  • Experience of logistics management;

  • Experience working in an international/multilateral environment;

  • Driving License.

Terms and Conditions

This is a full-time fixed term contract for two years, with possibility of renewal, for 5 working days (36 hours net) per week.

The monthly salary for this position is 127,626 (ALL) gross per month, at A2 level. Please note that staff members are responsible for paying any income tax required by local law.

The successful candidate will be subject to professional background check, security clearance and three months probation period.

Staff recruited locally by the British Embassy in Tirana are subject to terms and conditions of service according to local (Albanian) employment law.
