To provide support the Outreach, Chevening and GREAT Campaign Officer in administrative duties, the development of the specific projects, events and general requirements of the Chevening Programme in Colombia. The Chevening programme is the UK’s flagship scholarship programme for foreign students to carry out post-graduate studies in the UK.

One of the job-holders main responsibilities will be to provide support the project management, finance and organisational support to a Chevening Alumni Regional conference.  

Roles and responsibilities:

  • Arrange the logistics and provision of services (sometimes internally and sometimes with external providers) for Political Section events. (For instance, accommodation, transport, catering, audio visual equipment, and special need requirements).
  • Arrange the logistics and provision of services for Chevening Events.
  • Liaise with PPA section for logistics and relevant information. As well as information for relevant media Liaise with regional Chevening Teams to arrange specific logistics.
  • Keep records of suppliers, services and support financial management of specific events.
  • Identify reliable and value for money providers, and build up good relationships.
  • General support to the Chevening Officer, including admin tasks encompassing the complete Chevening selection process.
  • Assisting in updating databases, organising meetings, booking venues and liaising with the Chevening Alumni network.
  • Support for other Chevening Events, pre-departure and welcome back events; support promotional events and outreach.
  • Currently enrolled in the last semesters of University degree in Communications, Journalism, International Relations or a related subject.  
  • Available full-time.

  • Sociable, able to interact and collaborate with different teams.
  • Works well under pressure and against deadlines.
  • Fluent in both written and spoken English and Spanish.
  • Interest in UK /Government programmes.
  • Event management experience.
  • Team working experience.
  • Knowledge of current affairs.
  • Knowledge of social media.
  • PR & Protocol Knowledge.
