The British Embassy in Copenhagen is part of a world-wide network representing British political, economic and consular interests overseas and is now looking for an Intern to support delivery of COP26-related activity in the lead up to the event in November. To understand Danish and UK priorities on climate and biodiversity, to report on those priorities, and help identify synergies. To undertake logistical and organisational tasks in relation to COP26 itself.

During the internship, you will gain insight into, and become actively involved in a variety of interesting areas related to climate change and biodiversity, and specifically the United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP26), such as:

  • Research and reporting on climate, energy and environment issues in Denmark.

  • Promoting the UK position on climate, energy and environment issues.

  • Assisting in the development and running of COP26 related events.

  • Supporting the creation of interesting and engaging campaign and media content.

  • Promoting COP26 to a Danish audience.

  • Engagement with Danish stakeholders and influencers on climate.

  • Logistical tasks in relation to COP26.

  • Working with other teams across the Embassy to help integration of climate, energy and environment considerations into aspects of their work.

  • We are looking to recruit a determined, self-sufficient, enterprising and results-oriented individual who is driven by an interest in climate change and biodiversity, international relations and public policy.

  • Fluent in English and Danish with excellent communications skills (C1 level according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages).

We imagine that you may have already gained some climate change, energy or biodiversity experience, perhaps in your studies or other internships, that you have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to deliver on set objectives.
