The British Consulate-General / Department for International Trade (DIT) section in Düsseldorf is seeking an intern for the Renewable Energy sector for 3 months. You will have the opportunity to learn about the work of British diplomatic missions in Germany and Government Ministries in London, as well as networking directly with a wide range of UK and German companies.
The British Consulate-General plays a key role in delivering the UK strategy on boosting British exports to, and inward investment from, Germany. In Düsseldorf this includes the energy and infrastructure, life sciences, chemical, food and drink and retail sectors.

During the internship you will gain insight into and become actively involved in a variety of areas related to trade and investment, especially in the Renewable Energy sector.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Market & Energy Policy research in UK and Germany,
- Industrial sector mapping;
- Building fact sheet of sources and information for UK companies to navigate market entry in Germany;
- Event & Trade Fair support;
- Administrative tasks (including budgets, reporting, CRM).
We are looking for a determined, enterprising and result-oriented individual who is driven by an interest in business and economics. For one of the internships an interest in the life sciences and chemical sector is a bonus. The successful applicants will be good team players, flexible and happy to engage in a wide range of tasks. Strong communication skills are also needed. Social Media experience is a plus.
Applicants should be fluent in German and English. Please note that we can only accept students that are enrolled at a German university.
Ideally we are looking for someone to start on 2 January 2017. However, Mid January or early February would be acceptable.
