View Vacancy - HK- Senior Investment Manager (Technology), C4(L)
Main Purpose of Job
Leading key client relationships across the technology sectors for the Department for International Trade to support Foreign Direct Investment into the UK. This includes strategically working with the senior government stakeholders in the UK, Hong Kong and China as well as other external organisations and industry bodies to help develop relationships, build collaboration and enhance the UK’s reputation.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Playing a key role in a drive to establish a comprehensive account management system, to deliver better service to customers and drive more benefit from the relationship for both parties. Working as account lead for the top technology companies from Hong Kong, engaging with their senior leadership team. This role involves understanding the company strategies and identifying potential solutions and opportunities to support their UK growth;
- Build the UK’s reputation for technology and innovation alongside local and regional colleagues. Work with the Hong Kong government and industry to develop a programme of activity to enhance the perception of the UK as a place to invest and do business with. Drive the delivery of the programme against ROI parameters;
- Working collaboratively with wider UK Government colleagues to deliver DIT objectives. Work closely with the DIT trade team to identify opportunities for UK businesses within Hong Kong supply chains. Supporting colleagues that lead on venture capital, FinTech and SME/Start-up engagement to identify synergies in the portfolios which may be mutually beneficial;
- Supporting the Director for Investment in Hong Kong, including deputising at the Consulate and in external meetings, undertaking representational duties as required. You will take the lead on relevant VIP visits, maximising opportunities for business - including programme preparation; oral and written briefings; accompanying VIPs; speech writing and follow up - managing team and external colleagues through the process;
- Contributing to wider post objectives- working to ensure that the DIT agenda in Hong Kong is understood and brings value to the wider Hong Kong network, and vice-versa.
Experience in or a good understanding of the Technology sector, and/or a track record of quickly getting on top of a challenging brief would be highly beneficial.
Bachelors degree is preferred but not essential.
