What will the jobholder be expected to achieve?

As part of that engagement, the jobholder will lead on a number of key FCO-funded programmes.  This includes the Chevening Scholarship programme, which sends around 15-20 Masters level students to the UK every year and has over 400 Jamaican alumni.  The jobholder will lead on work supported by the Global Britain Fund, used to run our public events such as the UK-Jamaica Fair held in Kingston and to support engagement outside Kingston, as well wider British Government and Commonwealth programmes in Jamaica and the Caribbean including on Cyber Security, the Marine Environment and LGBT+ issues.

The jobholder will also lead on other aspects of UK/Jamaica co-operation, such as high level visits between the two countries and on regional visits by the High Commissioner around Jamaica.
