Main purpose of job:

Provide support to the front desk and corporate services teams and fulfil general administrative duties. 


Roles and responsibilities: 

  • Request and distribute business cards for the Network staff.
  • Answer general enquiries from customers (in person, over the telephone and/or by e-mail).
  • Purchase, manage, and organize stationery.
  • Requisition of purchase orders.
  • Record receipt of invoices and initiation of payment process on the system.
  • Update telephone and emergency contacts lists.
  • Update Crisis tree.
  • Distribute mail.
  • Other admin tasks according to team need.
  • Fluency in English and Portuguese, both verbal and written.
  • At least 2 years’ experience in administrative role.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Excellent engagement and customer service skills.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize.
  • Office management skills/experience managing an office environment.
  • Eligibility to live and work in Brazil in your own right, from time of application.
  • Previous experience in working for a diplomatic mission would benefit candidates in this role.

Working patterns:

The British Embassy supports flexible working hours, and the jobholder will have the opportunity to work remotely/from home on occasion. Employees are expected to attend the Brasilia Embassy in-person at least three days a week.

Working hours per week: 36 hours (Mon – Thu: 8:30am to 4:45pm; Fri – 8:30am to 4:30pm)
