The British Embassy in Yerevan is part of a worldwide network, representing British political, economic and consular interests overseas and is currently looking for an Administrative Assistant to support the British Embassy Yerevan with the effective administration of projects under the FCO bilateral funding programmes.

The successful candidate will assist the British Embassy Programme team with project-related administrative tasks to support the delivery of FCO funded projects in a cohesive and accurate manner.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Financial processing and monitoring:

  • Raise requisitions, reception and monitor PO’s for the programme team;

  • Process and record invoices for programme and event related expenditure including audit checking requirements;

  • Reconciliation of payments for programme spend, including liaising with Manila, London and Vilnius;

  • Budget reconciliation for Enabling Fund spend;

  • Make payments on Corporate Credit Cards / Government Procurement Cards for programme specific spend;

  • Run and format reports on project expenditure, as required.

Visits and events assistance:

  • Provide administrative support for all inward and outward guests including hotels, transport, and visas;

  • Provide logistical support for all events and visits including venue booking and set-up, catering, speakers, invitations and monitoring attendance.

Data Management:

  • Maintain paper files for Programme Team ensuring project documents are stored and archived as required;

  • Maintain and cleanse OpenSource data for Programme Team;

  • Support the Information Manager in managing Embassy assets and Information Asset Registration;

  • Provide cross-Embassy support for Sharepoint.


  • Proficient in both spoken and written English and Armenian language skills;

  • Minimum 2 years of working experience in an office environment within international organisations;

  • Effective communication skills with the ability to adapt communication style to different situations;

  • Previous experience in providing administrative and logistical support with events and visits;

  • Strong budgetary skills including invoicing and receipting;

  • Good IT skills, proficiency in using MS Office package (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)

  • Ability to work independently and within a team;

  • Excellent organisational, detail oriented and interpersonal skills;

  • Willingness and desire for continual learning and development.



  • Knowledge of Russian would be an advantage;

  • Experience using an online accounting system (Oracle based system).

This is full-time and permanent contract of 35 hours per week (Monday to Friday) from 09:00 to 17:00.

The gross monthly salary is AMD 392,655.00 paid in 12 equal instalments.

The successful candidate will be subject to professional background and security clearance.

The successful candidate must have pre-existing work authorisation for the Armenia in order to apply. The British Embassy does not sponsor work permits.
