The British Embassy in Moscow is part of a world-wide network, representing British political, economic and consular interests overseas and is looking for an Executive Assistant to the Director for Trade Investment who will also perform some wider duties as a Trade Adviser.

The Department for International Trade (DIT) is the United Kingdom Government’s international business development agency helping UK-based companies to export and succeed in the global economy. Its range of expert services is tailored to the needs of individual businesses to maximise their international success. It provides companies with knowledge, advice and practical support.

The job is dynamic and varied, there will be several streams of activities and scope to adjust the role as the successful incumbent settles in. You will support the Director of the Department across the full range of his responsibilities, ensuring they he is as effective as possible by efficiently managing his diary and travel and providing day to day support as required, including some translation.

You will also co-ordinate key activities across the Department, including large events such as the Department’s New Year Business reception, Business Briefings and VIP visits, making sure that the team works together well.

You will support the Director in team budget monitoring and management.


Roles and responsibilities

Personal/Executive Assistant duties – ensure the smooth running of DIT Russia Director’s office to ensure his time is managed in a most effective way.

 

Social media management - Lead on DIT team internal and external communication. Manage the team Twitter and Instagram accounts (create and maintain a social media content plan, create, edit and oversee the posts).

 

Budget Management-Monitoring, allocating and forecasting of DIT Russia team budget, ensuring the overall team spend fits within the allocated annual budget; reporting to the Director and liaising with DIT regional HQ on budget issues.

Team Co-ordination- Provide consolidated returns to the requests from other Embassy and London colleagues within the required timeline/format. Monitor team performance on targets.

 

Events management- Organize high-level visits, receptions, briefings and other DIT promotional events, commissioned by DIT Director, across all areas within the agreed time line and allocated resources.

 

Sector Expertise - In due course, there will be scope for the incumbent to develop some specific sector expertise, building detailed sector knowledge in both Russia and the UK, identifying synergies and opportunities and advising British companies on how best to approach the market.


Occasional travel required to the UK and elsewhere in the EECAN region.


  • Fluent in English and Russian;
  • Strong administrative skills and time management, ability to prioritise & multitask and an eagle eye for detail;
  • A proven record of PA/Team Co-ordinator work experience;
  • Understanding of broader business environment in Russia is an advantage;
  • Clear and concise written work in Russian and English.
  • Budget management experience;
  • Social media management experience;

This is a full-time permanent position with 5 working days, 35 hours net per week within standard office hours, requiring some travelling from time to time and some evening events.

The monthly salary for this position is Rub 99,284 , B3(L) level, paid 13 times a year.

The successful candidate will be subject to professional background check and security clearance.
