The British Embassy, Israel has vacancy for a Trade and Investment Assistant, Grade – A2 (L).

Overview of the role:

The Department for International Trade (DIT) Israel invites applications for the position of Trade & Investment Assistant - Grade A2 (L). The successful candidate will provide administrative assistance and work closely with the senior managers to help ensure that DIT team provides first class support to Israeli companies in Inward Investment to the UK.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Assisting the Senior Inward Investment Manager, with arranging meetings and responding to Investment enquiries.
  • Maintaining and updating the client data management, in addition to the communication systems and the Investment project pipeline.
  • Investment lead generation.
  • Assisting in the organisation of Department for International Trade events and official visits.
  • On occasion, attending out of hours social networking functions.
  • Additional tasks as required by the team.

Essential:

  • Fluent written and verbal communication skills in English. Basic operational knowledge of Hebrew – a must
  • Minimum 3 years business/office experience.
  • Exceptional planning and organisational skills, the ability to work independently, apply initiative, problem solve and work under pressure to meet multiple and changing priorities, deadlines and objectives.
  • Excellent team player who can work on their own initiative with the ability to take a wider perspective.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages and ability to adapt and get to grips with other systems.
  • Confident when dealing with senior government officials, visiting VIPs and high-level private sector contacts.
  • Excellent IT skills, including the ability to quickly learn new programmes

Desirable:

  • University degree or equivalent.
  • Organisational experience.
  • Experience of working in a trade and investment environment.
  • Experienced and comfortable with Social Media platforms.

Working Hours and Remuneration:

The Embassy aims to offer an attractive working environment and remuneration package for this role, including the non-negotiable salary of NIS 10,015 per month plus social benefits.  The initial contract will be for one year with possibility of renewal. There will be a four months probationary period.  Parking facilities are not provided or paid for by the embassy.

No accommodation or relocation expenses are payable in connection with this position.

Working hours are Monday to Thursday 8:00-16:00 and Friday 8:00-13:30, flexibility will be required including evening events and some travel locally.

The Embassy offers an excellent Learning and development package, to be carried out throughout the employee’s employment.

Eligibility

If you are selected for this position, we will be able to employ you as long as you:

  • Receive the appropriate level of security clearance;
  • Candidates must be able to work legally in Israel.
