The CSSF team in British Embassy Cairo is seeking an Education Programme Manager grade B3 (L) to start as soon as possible.

Main purpose of the job:

Based in the British Embassy’s Education Team, you will lead on delivering a number of projects supporting Egypt’s education reforms. You will work closely with the Head of the Education Programme to deliver impact across the Embassy’s education work.    

Working closely with the First Secretary Education and Head of the Education Programme, you will lead on a number of exciting projects, and play a key part in the UK’s overall support to education reform in Egypt.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Professionally manage a number of technical assistance projects, including maximisingstrategic impact; monitoring and evaluation; robust financial and risk management; relationship management; regular reporting; and problem-solving
  • Support the Head of Education Programmes to deliver our flagship project with UNICEF, as required
  • Lead on inward visits (to Egypt) and outward visits (to the UK) to promote bilateral cooperation on education
  • Manage effective relationships with a wide range of stakeholders (e.g. government, education sector, international community, and development partners)
  • Provide insights and advice on the education sector, including on the scope for new projects
  • Represent the Embassy externally in meetings and events.

  • Proven ability to take the lead on an area of work, with a track record as a team player, ready to help colleagues and share knowledge
  • Strong interpersonal skills and experience of establishing productive relationships with stakeholders
  • Strong analytical and decision-making skills are required to deliver projects/programmes in a dynamic environment
  • Experience of financial management
  • Experience of working with/for bilateral or multilateral donors
  • Experience of working with gender and disability programmes

Remuneration:

The position is B3 (L) and the Gross Salary is USD 1,343.81 per month subject to insurance and tax as per the usual regulations based on a 36 hours per week. We offer a competitive package including medical benefits, performance related bonus, recreational facilities, opportunities for job related training & development, etc. This is a full time, temporary contract for 3 months with a possibility of extension to 6 months.

No accommodation and relocation expenses are payable in connection with this position.
