Main purpose of job:

The DIT Latin America and the Caribbean (LATAC) Marketing and Communications Hub is seeking for a new intern who will join their fast paced team and will support them in the delivery of regional activities, such as Marketing Campaigns, Email Marketing, Branding and Design, Reporting and Internal Communications.

This position will report directly to the Marketing Manager for LATAC. The ideal candidate should have preferably a marketing and/or communications degree, be eager to learn from an international environment with strong commitment to deliver their work, be a recent graduate living in CDMX and able to work within a flexible working environment, which means working remotely and at the office twice a week and/or when needed.

Roles and responsibilities / what will the jobholder be expected to achieve?:

As part of the regional DIT LATAC Marketing & Communications (MarComms) team you are expected to:

 

Marketing Activities

a.     For LATAC

·       Update the Marcomms LATAC activity calendar, raising key events that will require our support.

·       Support with the organisation of the MarComms Sessions for teams in LATAC.

·       Draft the monthly report of Marketing achievements.

·       Assist with the production of audiovisual materials such as videos, infographics, gifs and any other assets requested.

·       Support with webpage creation and management of emailing system for the region.

·       Support the Marketing Manager to generate content for Marketing Campaigns and to draft reports for those campaigns.

·       Under the supervision of the Marketing Manager, support LATAC teams with branding requests.

b.      For Mexico

·       Support the brand champion from Mexico Communications’ team to manage the GREAT brand material.

Internal Communications

a.     For LATAC

·       Gather and draft updates and relevant information sent from countries and sectors for the weekly MarComms internal bulletin.

Social media

a.     For LATAC

·       Copywriting for several regional sectored marketing campaigns for Twitter and LinkedIn regional channels

All employees in the Embassy network are expected, as part of their job, to contribute towards the corporate activity of the organisation.

Essential on arrival:  

  • Committed and being able to work in a flexible environment Remote/Office, in person twice a week.
  • Proven English proficiency
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisation skills
  • Able to deliver within tight deadlines
  • Ability to summarise information
  • Social media savvy - copywriter  (Twitter, LinkedIn, Medium)
  • Microsoft Office basic skills
  • Knowledge of design and video tools such as Illustrator, Photoshop or similar (Canva) and Premiere Pro or similar.

    Candidates must be able to live and work in Mexico in their own right. The succesful candidate will be subject to a security clearence and professional reference checks.

    Employees who are not liable to pay local income tax on their Mission salary, eg some non-local national staff and some spouses or partners of UK diplomatic staff, will have their salaries abated by an equivalent amount.
