Overview

The Department for International Trade (DIT) is the Trade, Investment Promotion and Negotiation organisation for the UK. We promote British trade and investment across the world, we support UK businesses overseas and attract foreign investment to our shores. We have 3,000 staff across the globe in over 100 countries.

DIT divides the world into 9 regions, each led by Her Majesty’s Trade Commissioner. The Latin American and the Caribbean (LATAC) Region is led from São Paulo by Jonathan Knott. This Network is represented in 20 Posts with a team of over 150.

The LATAC Enquiry Hub is the Region’s universal entry point for UK businesses and serves as a frontline response to triage enquiries and connects companies with internal or external support, with the core aim to help UK firms win and expand their business in the region.

We are currently looking to recruit an Enquiry Hub Executive that will handle the day-to-day operations and be an essential member of the pan-LATAC Enquiry Hub team. This role will connect teams in the UK, sector specialists and colleagues across LATAC and the individual will be experienced, high performing, delivery focused that can hit the ground running.


Roles and responsibilities

  • Manage the inbox and answer enquiries sent to the DIT LATAC Enquiry Hub. Adopting an effective, standardised relationship management approach for UK businesses.
  • Working closely with regional DIT colleagues and in-country FCDO colleagues - you will be responsible for various defined tasks in support of UK companies currently in market or looking to enter the market; helping them spot the opportunities, and also helping them navigate the challenges.
  • Be an advocate for the Enquiry Hub - externally and internally - developing and maintaining a strong working relationship with DIT HQ and other HMG colleagues to leverage appropriate expertise and support to help companies. Upskill colleagues internally around the continent on benefits of the Enquiry Hub and how to work with the Enquiry Hub.
  • Handle follow-up actions from enquires, including objections, and facilitating consultative client discussions and across communication mediums.
  • Conduct market research whether by sector, country or region and prepare documentation and data to support UK businesses and internal activities.
  • Undergraduate degree and/or other relevant professional qualification or experience.
  • At least one years’ experience working in a sales or customer-facing role and/or in the trade and investment promotion environment or related fields.
  • Experience of customer relationship management and use of CRM systems.
  • Proven track record of cross-team collaboration and working with teams across geographies.
  • A positive, resilient, flexible and adaptable “can-do” attitude that can see way through challenges.
  • Well organised, results driven person that is self-motivated to achieve individual and team progress.
  • Appropriate communication techniques in a timely and responsive manner

Eligibility to work and live in Brazil is required.

  • A knowledge of business practices and trends across LATAC
  • Understand challenges for exporting businesses
  • Experience of working in or with government departments, NGOs, and similar institutions
