The British Embassy in Tirana is part of a world-wide network, representing British political, economic and consular interests overseas and is looking for a Corporate Services Manager, based in Tirana.

As Corporate Services Manager, the jobholder will be responsible for the effective leadership and management of the Corporate Services Team (CST). They will need to ensure that all resources (financial, procurement, IT, estates, assets and logistics) are managed effectively taking into account value for money and health and safety. They will be responsible for the efficient delivery of personnel, office and other support services to meet the needs of the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO), the Ministry of Defence (MoD), the National Crime Agency (NCA) and Home Office (HO).

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Overall strategic leadership of the CST ensuring that resources are effectively managed to meet the needs of all departments across the following functions: corporate budgets, business support, logistics, estate maintenance, office services and IT.
  • Proactive and effective communication within the Corporate Services Team and with FCO colleagues and those from Other Government Departments resolving issues in a timely manner.
  • Deliver Value for Money (VFM) through efficient and economic use of the administration budget paying particular attention to appropriate financial procedures and internal audit recommendations.
  • Clear demonstration of leadership ability.

  • Minimum of 5 years experience in finance and resource management.

  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and numeracy skills and be able to demonstrate a strong track record in delivering services to a range of internal and external customers.
  • Excellent written and spoken English.

    • A degree in Business Administration or related financial qualifications will be a distinct advantage.
    • University degree in a related discipline is also preferable.
    • Experience working for an international organisation, government diplomatic or commercial.
    • Strong management experience, strong experience in managing a diverse team and operating at senior management levels.
    • Strong influencing skills and be able to deal with and resolve conflict.
    • Strong knowledge of IT packages such as Microsoft Word, Excel and ideally Oracle systems and databases.

    This is a full-time position of a 36 months contract (with the possibility of an extension), for 5 working days (36 hours net) per week at C4 level.
