The British Embassy in Tirana is part of a world-wide network, representing British political, economic and consular interests overseas and is looking for a CSSF SOC Projects Officer A2, based in Tirana.

The jobholder will support the identification, design, monitoring of CSSF Serious Organised Crime programme portfolio, aligned with the Western Balkans NSC Strategy and Post’s Country Business Plan. 

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Facilitate the identification, design, monitoring and evaluation of projects that deliver CSSF Serious Organised Crime programme objectives, supporting the Regional SOC Co-ordinator, and working closely with x-HMG colleagues and the Head of Programmes;
  • Strategic Vision, guidance and administrative support for Post and project implementers on capacity building SOC projects;
  • To build strong relationships with international partners to influence their approach to SOC and corruption and align it with our own; 
  • Maintain professional communication and coordination with wider donor and legal community and key national stakeholders, ensuring compatibility of projects with international partners and with extant and emerging national legislation, including the ongoing judicial reform;
  • To provide research, advice and support to forward wider JHA objectives, in particular:
    - International Modern Slavery & Illegal Migration; 
    - Return of Foreign National Offenders and Unaccompanied Asylum Seeking Children (UASCs);
    - Implementation and Monitoring of the Prisoner Transfer Agreement and Extradition Treaty.
  • University degree (masters degree or equivalent is desirable), Bachelors is essential;
  • A minimum of three years of relevant work experience, including evidence of engaging stakeholders, customers and partners at all levels;
  • Effective communication, including written and spoken fluency in English and Albanian and ability to adapt communication style to different situations;
  • Strong analytical and judgement skills;
  • Ability and willingness to work effectively and flexibly on special events/occasions in the Embassy calendar (5% of time/year);
  • A self-starter that can work well both individually and in a team;
  • Excellent organisational skills;
  • Willingness and desire for continual learning and development.
  • Project management qualifications and/or experience.

This is a full-time, fixed-term 2 year contract with the possibility of renewal, for 5 working days (36 hours net) per week.

The monthly salary for this position is 127,626 ALL (Gross) per month, at A2 level.
