The British Embassy in Ashgabat is part of a world-wide network, representing British political, economic and consular interests overseas and is now looking for a full-time Driver/Security Guard.

The successful applicant will have collective responsibility for undertaking driving duties and effective implementation of security procedures ensuring the safety and security of our staff and premises in Ashgabat.


  • Good communicator, with good spoken and written Russian and Turkmen, conversational English;
  • 6 years full, clean driving licence and professional driving skills;
  • Ability to work effectively and flexibly with others;
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a customer focus;
  • Flexibility to work in shifts, including occasional early mornings and late evenings and weekends both at the Embassy and the Residence;
  • Good local knowledge to assist with navigating and planning better the workload;
  • References from previous employment.
  • Good spoken and written English;
  • Advanced or VIP driving qualification would be an advantage;
  • Previous experience in a similar role;
  • Basic admin and computer skills
  • Ability to write short security reports and follow written instructions;
  • Ability to work with technical equipment like CCTV.
