The Embassy offers a number of internship opportunities throughout the year as is now recruiting for 6 positions.  All internships run for a fixed period of 3 or 6 months and should be completed on a full time basis (37.5 hours per week). The 6 month internship includes 3 month internship and 3 month traineeship. The gross monthly salary is 3490 PLN.

In addition, we offer the following: agreed number of paid absence days, home working, if applicable, flexible working hours within the agreed limits, learning and development opportunities, modern management culture, excellent working environment, engagement in the corporate life of the Embassy.

Main responsibilities:

  • Provide general organisational and administrative support as required (e.g. by organising meetings, managing calendar and event guest lists, undertaking general office work);
  • Support the preparation and delivery of physical and online events and seminars;
  • Provide translations into/from English/Polish;
  • Conduct market research and analysis;
  • Support in delivery of procurement goals;
  • Admin duties.

The Embassy will be assigning successful candidates to the teams of its choice, however, candidates are requested to highlight their preferable team listed below as well as availability (3 or 6 months) in the motivation part of the application. The positions between number 1 & 5 may start later (July 17th).

  1. Communications Team - As an intern your working day will include a review of Polish media to identify stories of likely interest for the Ambassador and other staff, producing a daily summary email; you will contribute ideas for our social media channels; and may be involved in organising a press conference or similar media event.
  2. Internal Politics and Soft Power Team - As an intern your working day may include helping with organising meetings, visits and events, online research and assisting the team with daily office tasks and ongoing projects. Interest in Polish youth activism would be particularly beneficial.
  3. Private Office Team - As an intern your working day may include: greeting and accompanying the Ambassador’s guests to and from meetings; assisting in the day-to-day running of the Private Office; assisting with internal and external visits and Embassy events; and ensuring an effective flow of communication to and from the Private Office.
  4. Economic Diplomacy Team - As an intern your working day may include organising a business meeting to discuss a priority issue, translating a report on a recent development, and assisting with arrangements for a workshop with key experts.
  5. Policy Team - As an intern your working day may include tracking and reporting international visits of Polish officials, preparing analyses focused on Polish international relations, joining conferences and summarising them, and helping to organise events in the Embassy.
  6. Department for Business and Trade - As an intern your working day may include conducting market research – general and on specific sectors, helping to organise internal and external events, contacting business stakeholders, update databases.

As part of the recruitment process, successful candidates will be requested to provide one academic or professional reference.

  • Full professional proficiency in English and Polish, including excellent writing skills (written and spoken, minimum of C1 level for CEFR framework*)
  • Obtained BA or MA or in the process of obtaining at least BA in a related field or during a gap year
  • Good communication and organisational skills
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently and on own initiative
  • Competent with Microsoft Office Software

This is a 3 or 6 month’s internship contract.

Internships offered at the British Embassy are governed by the applicable Polish law.
