Main purpose of job:

The Political, Strategy, and Communications team of the UK in India network is seeking a talented individual to join the team as an in-house Graphic Designer and Brand Manager, based in Delhi NCR. This role requires that the successful candidate to fulfil design and branding requests from various departments within the UK in India network, with a focus on creating high-quality artwork for both print and digital marketing materials.

While the primary responsibilities involve graphic design and brand management, the role also includes supporting event delivery during busy periods. The main objectives of this position include providing brand guidance, delivering exceptional designs on deadline according to brand guidelines, and meeting specific briefs.

This role requires close collaboration with other designers, the marketing and communications team, and the brand & production team to maintain consistency and effectively communicate our messages through be-spoke designs.

 Roles and responsibilities / what will the jobholder be expected to achieve:

  • Develop branded assets across print, digital, and motion media as needed for all HMG stakeholders and partners within the UK in India Network.
  • Ensure adherence to FCDO and GREAT brand guidelines in all marketing materials and through partnership campaigns and projects.
  • Uphold quality and customization in design and application for all activities (e.g., BTL, events).
  • Share best practices, design expertise, and training with relevant teams.
  • Collaborate with various teams, including the UK in India Network departments, the GREAT brand team, the DBT regional design hub, and the FCDO brand team.
  • Attend scheduled training sessions on design and branding provided by HQ and respective brand teams, and complete mandatory staff trainings.
  • Actively participate in and support event delivery, understanding marketing needs, and proposing sustainable, long-term design and event solutions.
  • Daily responsibilities include 60% design delivery and strategy, 20% brand adherence and enforcement, and 20% event support.

Level of language required: Proficient in English and Working Knowledge of Hindi

The jobholder will be able to access a wide range of online and face-to-face training delivered for the UK Government in post and abroad. They will have opportunities to access specialist training for government communicators. Much of the learning is on the job, which will be diverse and varied.

  • The British High Commission, New Delhi is the chief diplomatic mission of the United Kingdom in India. It is located at Shantipath in Chanakyapuri, New Delhi. We at the BHC work towards maintaining and developing relations between the UK and India. We seek to enhance the UK- India relationship so that is stronger, wider, and deeper. We aim to generate more jobs, more growth and ensure security for the two nations. Our general purpose is to provide diplomatic relationships as well as travel information, consular related services, and other services between our two Commonwealth states. We work closely with the Indian Government on issues such as Trade, Investment, Climate Change, Education and Research, Security and Defence as well as Diplomacy and International Relations.

  • The role is based in Delhi NCR and may require work travel to posts across the India network.

  • The work of a diplomatic mission can be unusual, and the subject matter can range from trade and investment to defence and security to education and visas. The jobholder should be able to hit the ground running, learning quickly about a wide range of issues.

  • The job holder may be called upon to support the wider marketing and communications team when necessary, so a degree of flexibility is required.

Essential on arrival:

  1. Graduate in Graphic Design, Fine Arts, Visual Communication, or a related field.
  2. Minimum 3 years of creative working experience.
  3. Experience of working with a large number of stakeholders, excellent interpersonal skills and managing expectations.
  4. Highly organised and proficient at managing multiple projects at a time.
  5. Hands on experience of working with Adobe Creative Cloud Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator)
  6. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)

Desirable:

  1. Prior experience of working in an international, multicultural organisation.
  2. Knowledge of Adobe Premier Pro and Adobe After effects software, additional skills such as photography, video editing, 2D illustrations and motion graphics. Experience with designing for events and exhibitions will be an added bonus.

No relocation or any other related costs or assistance will be provided.

Please note - BHC does not deduct tax at source and employees are required to ensure that any requirements of local income-tax law are complied with in full. Employees who are not liable to pay local income tax on their Mission salary, e.g., some non-local national staff and some spouses or partners of UK diplomatic staff, will have their salaries abated by an equivalent amount.

Please note - Provident Fund Transfer in and out from EPFO is not possible as BHC PF is managed by a private PF trust governed by Indian Income Tax Act, 1961. The staff still has the option to transfer out and in from a privately held PF trust which are not governed by EPFO.
