This is a dynamic leadership role for an exceptional individual to join the Department for International Trade (DIT) as the Associate Director, Healthcare and Education. Based in the British Consulate-General Hong Kong, this role will manage a team of 3 to deliver the trade and investment objectives for the Healthcare and Education sectors. The person in this role will support businesses of all size to secure exports from the UK, build a pipeline of attracting Hong Kong companies to expand their businesses and investments into the UK, and drive the promotion of the UK as the ideal country partner for comercial collaboration with Hong Kong. Reporting to the Director of Trade & Investment, this role will offer discretion to develop sector strategies with sound analytical skills and support senior management decisions by providing sector specialist advice, as well as building capacity and expertise throughout the trade team through collaborative working and strong interpersonal skills to negotiate changes and securing agreements with a wide range of stakeholders both internally and externally. |

All these sectors will feed in to the wider focus of sustainability and levelling up. |

The jobholder may be required to travel and any travel would be monitored in line with COVID-19 situation. Some work (including travel) will be required during the evenings and occasionally weekends, for which time off in lieu (where applicable) will be given.
This position is open to Hong Kong citizens, permanent residents, and partners/dependents of UK-based diplomatic staff currently posted in Hong Kong.
